After my grandpa passed away I was looking for something that would help me remember him. I came across the Presidential Memorial Certificate on the Veterans Administration website. The Presidential Memorial Certificate was created by President Kennedy in 1962. It is an engraved certificate that is signed by the President of the United States that is serving when the certificate is requested. Unlike many VA programs this certificate is fairly easy to apply for. All one needs is a to fill out a form and mail it to the VA with a copy of the veteran’s discharge papers and death certificate. I still miss my grandpa, but it is going to be nice to have something that memorializes the service that he provided to our country during World War II.
